In a state of love, I yearn for the Beloved
My heaven, my destination is the Beloved
In a state of love, I become Rabia
I love the Beloved, not for the greed of heaven
In a state of love, I become Shah Abdul Latif
Ready to sacrifice my being for one glimpse of my Beloved
In a state of love, I become Sohni, Sassi, Marvi,
even Heer and Leila, for my Beloved
In a state of love, every cell of my body,
every atom in my being is lost in Beloved
In a state of love, I transcend gender boundaries
becoming Khwaja Mouinuddin, Baba Farid, Nizam Uddin Awliya!
In a state of love, I am no longer “me”
In this state of love, I become Rumi’s flute
In love, I lose my ego, I become Mansur
I shed all droppings of my human arrogance
In this state: love worship becomes one
I lose everything, and yet gain everything!
Amineh is not limited to her human body,
her love for the Beloved is eternal,
Her love will flow, adoring the Beloved
From the beginning till the end of time
Her every cell, every DNA, worshipping
Through the river of love of all lovers
In glittering examples par excellence
Through the rasuls of the Beloved
Love is eternal, love is fluid.
And I am but one essential drop
in the eternal river of love.
