The United States has warned Americans across the Middle East to consider leaving the region or be prepared to depart if security conditions deteriorate, as reports emerge that Washington and Israel are weighing possible new strikes against Iran.
U.S. diplomatic missions issued security alerts saying the regional environment remains “complex” and carries the possibility of “unforeseen escalation.”
Officials cautioned that Americans should be prepared for possible flight cancellations, airspace restrictions, and other travel disruptions.
“Americans in the region should consider departing, or be prepared to depart should there be escalation,” U.S. Department of State Consular Affairs said @TavelGov.

The warnings come amid reports that the United States and Israel are considering expanded military action against Iran, including possible strikes on energy-related infrastructure such as power facilities and refineries.
CBS News reported that such targets were being discussed, while other reports said President Donald Trump had authorized preparations for additional strikes.
The White House has not confirmed the reports at the time of filing this news story.
Although the embassy alerts do not state that military action is imminent, the timing has raised concerns that Washington is preparing for possible retaliation or a wider regional response if hostilities escalate.
“The Iranian regime is unpredictable, as seen by its recent decisions to attack areas in the region without warning or provocations as well as to expand attacks to areas not previously targeted (such as Egypt),” according to alerts posted by the U.S. embassies.
“Americans in the region should consider departing, or be prepared to depart should there be escalation,” say the messages, noting that travel may be disrupted due to the tension.
U.S. officials urged citizens in the region to monitor developments, remain vigilant, avoid large gatherings, and maintain emergency preparations.
