Trump Bans CNN, MS NOW and Politico from White House

President Donald Trump said Friday he is banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, accusing the outlets of repeatedly publishing what he called “fake news.”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump, who has clashed with several media outlets over the coverage of his administration, said the ban was effective immediately and suggested that other news organizations could also be barred.

He did not provide details on how the restrictions would be implemented.

The announcement comes after Trump’s decision in February 2025 to exclude Associated Press journalists from the Oval Office, Air Force One and other settings where the full press corps could not be accommodated.

The administration took that step after the AP declined to adopt Trump’s preferred name, “Gulf of America,” for the body of water widely known as the Gulf of Mexico.

The AP challenged the exclusion in court, and that litigation remains pending. Trump has also taken legal action against other news organizations since returning to office, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and the BBC.

Trump has repeatedly clashed with news organizations over coverage of his administration. In Friday’s post, he accused the three outlets of reporting “FICTION and LIES” about him, his administration and the United States.

Trump also alleged that Politico received an $8 million government subscription under former President Joe Biden and characterized the arrangement as “corruption.” He did not provide evidence for that allegation in his post.

CNN, MS NOW and Politico did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
