President Donald Trump on Monday said TV images of emaciated kids in Gaza point to “real starvation” as he expressed disagreement with Israeli prime minister’s claim that there was no starvation in the besieged Palestinian territory.

Speaking at his golf course Turnberry, in Scotland, alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the kids in Gaza looked very hungry in pictures he saw.

“Based on television, I would say not particularly because those children looked very hungry,” Trump replied, when asked if he agreed with Benjamin Netanyahu’s characterization, who claimed that “there is no starvation in Gaza, no policy of starvation in Gaza.”

The U.S. president noted the whole place is in a mess.

“Nobody’s done anything great over there, the whole place is a mess,” as world capitals called for immediate resumption of aid supplies into Gaza, which has been devastated in the almost two-year-old war.

“We’re going to set up food centers and we’re going to do it in conjunction with some very good people and we’re going to supply funds,” the president told in a Press interaction.

“We can save a lot of people, some of those kids are — that’s real starvation stuff. I see it, and you can’t fake that. So, we’re going to be even more involved.”

The British prime minister voiced his country’s consternation over the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, which has been blockaded for several months while Israeli attacks have continued.

“The situation on the ground in Gaza is absolutely intolerable and I think that certainly speaking for the British public and myself, seeing those images of starving children are revolting,” Starmer said.

“There’s a sense of revulsion in the British public in what they’re seeing. They know and we know that humanitarian aid needs to get in at speed, at volume.

Unger growing international pressure, Israel said Sunday it would begin to pause fighting for 10 hours a day in Gaza’s population centers to allow more food aid in.

Trump noted that “it’s very difficult to deal with Hamas,” the militant Palestinian organization that ruled Gaza.
