Pakistan on Sunday firmly denied circulating claims that the United States Navy is conducting military operations against Iran from Pakistani territory with Islamabad’s consent, calling the allegations baseless propaganda with no grounding in fact.

In a fact-check notice shared on X, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting traced the claim to a North America-based social media account, saying it was subsequently amplified across online platforms.

Describing the assertion as “fabricated propaganda,” the ministry said the allegation that the US Navy is operating from Pakistani soil against Iran “with alleged Pakistani approval” is “baseless and part of wider agenda of sowing confusion, misperceptions and chaos.”

The ministry urged the public to disregard such posts, stating they do not warrant serious consideration and should be viewed as propaganda rather than credible information.

It closed with the message: “Truth Prevails over Falsehood.”

The fact-check emerged against a backdrop of heightened security concerns along Pakistan’s border with Iran in Balochistan, where cross-border trade has been temporarily halted.

Chagai Deputy Commissioner Bakhtiar Ismail characterized the suspension as a temporary security measure aimed at tightening border management and supporting counterterrorism operations.

“The border will be opened as soon as effective measures are in place,” he said in a post on X.

Traders have voiced concern over possible financial losses and disruption to cross-border commerce.
