Trump Says Iran War ‘Very Complete’

U.S. President Donald Trump Monday suggested the war with Iran may be approaching its end, saying the military campaign was largely complete and progressing faster than expected.

“I think the war is very complete, pretty much,” Trump told CBS News, adding that U.S. forces were “very far ahead of schedule.”

The president claimed Iran’s military capabilities had been severely degraded, saying the country now has “no navy, no communications” and “no air force,” while its missiles are “down to a scatter.”

Asked whether the conflict could end soon, Trump replied: “Wrapping up is all in my mind, nobody else’s.”

According to CBS News, the U.S. military says it has struck more than 3,000 Iranian targets during the first week of operations.

After the president’s remarks, oil prices dropped more than 25% after touching a high of close to $119 per barrel Sunday night.
